Many of our golden unique classic designs are premium decor items gilded using a difficult and time consuming gilding technique called “water gilding.” This process is the only one that allows the premium decor pieces to be burnished, once gilt.

An agate stone, which is carved into the shape of a cat’s claw and highly polished, is mounted onto a wooden stick and rubbed on an object until a shiny finish is achieved. Doing so accentuates certain details, ornate moldings or carved corners. The whole item can ever be burnished.

The result is superb.  The unique classic designs come to life just as polished bronze does.  The agate stone brings life to frames and object and transforms them into premium decor pieces.
