Designer Tips & Advice
- Mix different types of accent pieces
When selecting a group of decorative accent pieces for an end-table, try opting for a unique tabletop piece, a Neoclassical lamp and a porcelain piece, and display them together, attractively arranged.
Group items with a similar characteristic together to create an impacting visual effect. For example, try placing together those decorative accent pieces which all have black detailing.
When you select a set of decorative accent pieces to be grouped together on a tabletop, -let’s say four pieces-, choose three Empire style pieces and make the fourth one a different style - perhaps an English floral porcelain ashtray.
Choosing three or four pieces of different heights is always a great rule to live by when attempting to create a visually stimulating display of classical decorative pieces. For example, try arranging a Neoclassical lamp, a small unique tabletop piece, a medium sized tabletop piece and a small porcelain ashtray together.
- Visually frame your antique and Trumeaux mirrors
Our antique style mirrors and Trumeaux mirrors look even better when accented with two decorative symmetrical wall pieces at each side. Try two identical Neoclassical sconces or a pair of hand carved gilded decorative accent pieces, such as our ‘Feather & Ribbon Ornaments.’
- Enhancing console and coffee tables
Make a statement by enhancing your coffee table with a unique centerpiece or flower vase.
- Change the "mood" of your room
Sometimes using yellow light bulbs instead of standard white bulbs can be used as a decorative accent and can create a warm ambiance or highlight an eye-catching point of a room.
Important: Do not use yellow light bulbs if you use the lamp for reading. Yellow bulbs are best fit for serving decorative purposes. |
